One of the preliminary assessment methods of the initial gas reserves

Abstract

Based on calculation methods of the initial gas reserves in the domestic and world commercial practice, the need for simpler and more accessible calculation technique was identified. It shall allow determining potential productive possibilities of gas facilities in the process of well survey.
To simplify and reduce time for calculation of gas reserves, the author developed the preliminary assessment  method of the initial gas reserves ensuring:
- simplification of calculation method by reduction of input data volume;
- reduction of considerable volume of geophysical studies (it is sufficient to perform one mode of study consisting
of operation and shutting-in of well to develop pressure build-up curve;
- fast calculation using software product.
The proposed calculation model can be used commercially.
