Rational methodological approach to the calculation of seasonal tariffs for natural gas transportation

Abstract

The article deals with a design and implementation seasonal tariff calculation methodology for natural gas
transportation companies for gas suppliers and gasification companies. The existing calculation method of tariffs
for natural gas transportation and delivery to these enterprises has been analyzed but in which seasonal
fluctuations in volume of transported gas are not taken into account.
It has been studied that the ambient temperature affects the gas amount, which in its turn influences on the
profitability as tariff revenues from sales of gas is the main and the only source of financing costs of given
companies. The offered technique enables to calculate the seasonal tariff for natural gas distribution taking into
account three factors: - seasonal changes in ambient temperature, seasonal changes in the value of transporting
natural gas to consumers and seasonal change of gas supply and gasification profit. Application of methods of
calculating seasonal tariff for natural gas transportation will allow gas distribution enterprises to make even
quarterly profit and partly solve the problem associated with the existing crises at them.
